My Ex, Beretta by MozartsNemesis Strong words with more than just a hint of heated tension feature in this mature poem.

Literature
addicted
my words struggle to reach you
I feel them claw the air
desperate for breakthrough
as if still you're there
rendezvous prescription
waiting for refill
adrenaline affliction
addicted to the thrill
Literature
the warrior supplicates
burn
the rest
of me
but spare
my
skull.
cake it
with jewels.
soak it
in dyes,
pour water from it
onto withered greens.
glue candles to the
inside with their own wax,
make it a bowl
for things
too easily
lost.
Literature
sudden collapse of the integers
the day becomes an hour
becomes a pomegranate moon, dangling on
before and after little oceans, the imperfect domain
of memory; vivid colored birds
singing Sunday roars of time (and a time after)
and the future rises hushed
over the edges of a mountain- it was there
before we knew it

This yanks me right back to that scene in the first Lethal Weapon movie, where Riggs is ready to eat his gun...
Powerful seduction.
